Seasons change, and not just the weather. Relationships all have seasons too.
Today, I’m giving you permission to get rid of people in your life that are unhealthy. Who are not fully supporting you. Who are not directing you toward Jesus. Who ghost you. Who are not willing to understand where you are and why. Even those toxic family members.
Sometimes when God removes someone from your life, it may hurt, but He is often saving you.
Granted there are always seasons of friendships/relationships, but also sometimes we try to hold on to unhealthy ones because it feels more secure and comfortable. And while there are numerous reasons people are not willing to understand, or don’t support when asked, it doesn’t mean you have to hold onto them. Learn from my mistakes. It has taken me 48 years and I’m still not great at this.
I say all this because I just want you to know it’s okay to let go of poeple when God clearly directs it. (And before you say that isn’t loving, I’m not talking about ministering to unbelievers, or loving on believers. I’m talking relationships of people you want to walk and do life with, not ministry. Those are totally different.)
Those people who are not willing to work on becoming better in Christ. People who have issues they need to resolve in counsling to become fully whole, but they aren’t willing. It means those who are being pharisaical and living by rules, instead of a relationship with Jesus. Those who feel they have a right to speak into your life without really trying to know you, understand you and where you are, or be in a relationship with you.
You might be thinking that seems harsh, but it’s really not. I have lived enough life to know people bleed on others. People who have serious unresolved issues do not have the ability to have healthy relationships. That means if you are seeking healthy relationships it won’t happen with someone who’s not willing to do the work.
God has given me the gift of discernment, and unfortunately I don’t always listen when God gives me this feeling and then I step into areas God never intended with people He knew were not healthy for me.
All that to say…you will not always be understood on earth, but listen to that still small voice. Listen to Jesus. Follow Him by walking each minute with HIm and if you have people who aren’t willing to support you or are making unhealthy choices in their own life…take it to God.
If He says release them…do it. That is an act of obedience.
They’re holding you back from what God has for you.
It may feel uncomfortable.
They probably won’t get it. It’s okay. Give them over to God and release them.
You’re welcome.

Go live in the freedom God has for you!
