God’s Redemptive Power

I wrote this in 2019 and I am continually amazed at God’s redemptive power: God has been helping me heal, and I am working again. I never imagined He would redeem my life to where I am – and it’s not finished yet! Blessings to you as you read what I wrote in 2019.

2019:

Have you ever heard someone say, “Well, everything happens for a reason.” Really? Where in the Bible does it say that exactly? If I believed God had everything happen for a reason then that would mean He had me sexually abused and raped and I just don’t believe that.

I believe the free will of man and his sin came into play. A lot of things happen because of this. Now, of course God does say in Romans He can work all things together for the good of those who love him. I do believe He can.

It’s called redemption. The action of saving or being saved from sin, error, or evil. Not just our own sin like Jesus saves us from when we accept Him, but the sins of others as well. God can redeem what happened to us, but I absolutely do not believe He wanted it to happen. God detests sin of any kind.

However, we were sexually assaulted. It happened and we can’t undo the past. We have to move forward in recovery and in doing so we need hope. Knowing God can redeem such horrific events brings us great hope.

I have no idea how He will redeem each of our lives, but I have seen glimpses in my own. He has turned what was meant for evil into good by laying on my heart what to say to encourage others on this blog and in articles I write. He laid on my heart at the beginning of this blog to use them to write a book which I am praying about pursuing soon. To some these may seem like small things, but they are God’s way of redeeming.

Take a look at your life. Look closely. God works in every detail of our lives. It does not have to be a giant miracle to be God working. I’m positive He has already showed His redemptive power in your life as well. You just need to recognize it and keep looking for it as He continues to do so.

He’s not done with us yet. We are still on this journey of recovery and through each step God is going to continue walking with us. Redeeming what Satan meant for evil for God’s glory.

I’m a pretty conservative Christian, but even I have to shout “Amen!” when I think about God stomping on Satan!

Let’s thank God for His redemptive power today. Not just for sending Jesus for our sins, but to redeem the sins committed against us.

Thank you God for loving me so much you redeem my entire life leaving no stone unturned. Don’t let me miss what you are redeeming in my life. Make me aware of how you are showing Your glory. Keep bringing me hope and walking with me on this difficult journey.
