As we begin a New Year many people will be making resolutions. How much weight to lose. To exercise more. Many will quit within weeks. However, the New Year is also a time to reflect as we move forward.
What has God done in your recovery so far? What truths has He shown you this year? If you keep journals look back through them and see how far God has brought you. What prayers has He answered?
Make a list of your progress and God’s faithfulness to reflect on as you start the New Year.
I have been rereading my journals from this year and it shows me how far God has brought me. You can’t always see it by looking through your memories. Concrete evidence helps. I am using my skills more, not relying as heavily on medication which allows me to process my trauma, and though days right now are extremely hard, God is getting me through. Step by step, minute by minute. Once I stop looking and pushing toward the future and focus on today, I begin to make progress.
I pray during this New Year you are making progress in your recovery too.
Praying for you and wishing you many blessings,
Susan

My verse for 2018 was Ps. 34:8 and it is true. Taste and see that the Lord is good. Blessed, happy, fortunate are those who trust in Him.
