More than Conquerors

Through Him who loved us.

“No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.” Romans 8:37 NIV

We all carry a lot of baggage from our trauma. The effects it leaves behind are enough to pull us down. The unfounded guilt and shame.

Some of us have diagnosed conditions such as depression, PTSD, anxiety, personality disorders, eating disorders and the list could go on. It may be something undiagnosed, but equally as harmful such as overeating, undereating, or sleeping too much.

We all have things to work through. Maybe you are even trying to work off some of the medication which you were put to on to help you deal with your trauma so you are less foggy and can process the trauma in a new light.

I am in this boat right now. I am also still fighting the depression, PTSD, anxiety, a personality disorder, and an eating disorder.

All of us have our fights. As survivors we have much to tackle. However, we are not down for the count. We are still in the ring. The fight is far from over.

We are not victims defeated by our past, we have God on our side. He said, “No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.” Romans 8:37 NIV

So we need to trust God with whatever our needs may be. Whether it is; slowly working off medication, with the help of a doctor, depression, anxiety, PTSD, over eating, sleeping too much, or whatever else we may need to tackle.

Whatever we are facing, hard as it is, we need to trust God to see us through. Lean on Him.

We may still be depressed, anxious, and have other disorders, but we can allow God to work on helping us to overcome them.

God longs for us to ask Him to heal us of these things. Don’t get me wrong. I know it is not going to happen overnight. I understand these are complicated struggles we face each and every day. However, one day, God can bring us the healing we so desire.

I do not know when the healing will come. I’ve been on this journey over 9 years. However, He will work with us as we travel this long journey to recovery. He will battle through all our struggles.

He asks us to remember, I consider that our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us.Romans 8:18 NIV  Meaning, if we will allow Him to, one day His glory will shine brightly through our healing from the trauma which right now entangles our lives.

I am not belittling how hard this journey is, and how difficult our suffering is and will continue to be as we recover. However, if we focus on God, and trust Him to help heal us, He promises to help us conquer this horrible tragedy of trauma which occurred in our lives. (Romans 8:37)

He died for us. He said we are conquerors in Him.

Will you join me in asking Him to help heal us and conquer our trauma so one day we will be free from the burdens of this journey?

Father God,

This journey to recovery from all which was done to me is grueling. Please begin healing me from the (depression, anxiety, PTSD, personality disorder, sleeping too much, overeating, eating disorder ____add your own____. Help me know if I am to ask my doctor about working off any medication to focus on my recovery and depend on You.) Allow me to realize I am a conqueror in You and help me be patient to let you heal me in Your time.

Amen
