Sorry for being missing a lot lately. I’m dealing with some health issues and my energy is on healing and on my business so writing gets a back seat.
With that said, I wanted to ask you: where are you seeking comfort? Where are you finding hope? This world feels heavy and so much adds to it. I know personally, when I don’t feel good everything feels worse, and the world is a huge dumpster fire with no hope in sight….
But God…
But we serve a God of hope.
A God of comfort.
A God of peace.
“Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.” Romans 15:13 NKJV
I am constantly taken back to God for comfort…throughout my life but especially the past couple of years. I have to come to Him with it ALL and ask Him to come into it with me.
God, come into this hurt.
God, come into this healing.
God, comfort me and show me your will.
The past couple of years have brought me so much extra heartache on top of what I already face. I’ve been talked about behind my back, had “friends” share things with others I did not give permission to share, been deceived by people more concerned with their own image, and I’ve lost friendships I thought were genuine—only to discover that some “Christian friends” weren’t as Christlike as I believed. I asked for grace in navigating situations that, honestly, I shouldn’t have had to, and shared the depths of my tears and soul—only to have people sit and stare. No comfort. No prayers offered. Just concern for their own wants and feelings. That kind of betrayal and hurt cuts deep, but I’ve learned to ask God to come into it with me.
Then, I release those who have hurt me back to God. I forgive. It’s up to Him to work on them not me. I may have things I want to say or do, but the first thing I do is ask God what He wants me to do and say. I am only in charge of me and it is always my prayer that I walk circumpspectfully and honor Him in word and deed every minute of everday. So, even in the hurt, I pray it’s Him who responds and who leads the words and actions. Because there is only one that I have to face when I enter heaven and that is: God. He’s the One I answer to.
So, my question to you, friend, is are you walking circumspectfully? Are you doing all your work for the Lord and only Him or are you trying to please others? Are you giving of your firstfruits to Him and are you allowing only Him to be your all? Allowing only Him to be your comfort, your joy, your peace, your healer?
Don’t worry if you’re not…just come back and ask Him to forgive you for not and ask Him to help you do it going forward.
Caution – you will fail at this again because you’re not perfect. But working out our salvation on this earth isn’t about perfection it’s about seeking the Lord who died because we’re sinners. Hear that? We’re sinners so don’t try to be perfect – you can’t be.
Take heart, friends. The Lord’s coming is near. Can I get a hallelujah and amen?! This world will pass away, and our hope is not here but in Jesus.
“For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, is working for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory, while we do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal.” 2 Corinthians 4:17-18
