a believe and pray words of encouragement on pink surface

What are you believing for today?

What are you believing God will do?

Are you believing for healing of some kind?

Are you believing for your growth in your business?

Are you believing for restoration of a relationship?

Are you believing for God’s provision?

Heading into 2025 I’m holding on to “believe” and “faith”.

As I am praying about what my word for 2025 I landed on the same word as this year.

Believe

All of this landed me in the books of Mark, Luke and Hebrews today.

In Luke chapter one, reading through the story of God‘s fulfillment of His promise of a child to Zacharias and Elizabeth. As Mary, once she was pregnant with Jesus, heads to visit Elizabeth, Mary’s presence at the door fills Elizabeth womb with the Holy Spirit. Her reaction is amazing, because she says “But why is this granted to me, that the mother of my Lord should come to me?“

How grateful she was Mary, and the mother of her Lord Jesus came to her. Do we greet God with that same thankfulness?

“Why am I granted this grace and forgiveness? Thank you, Father.”

Then Elizabeth goes on to say. “Blessed is she who believed, for there will be a fulfillment of those things which were told her from the Lord.“ Luke 1:45.

I marked in my Bible by that verse last year “I trust and believe You will fulfill all You’ve promised in my life too.” But I realized there are many days I am not trusting and believing.

This all landed me in Mark 9:24, where a father asked for healing for his son, who was demon possessed. Jesus said to him, “’If you believe, all things are possible to him who believes.’ Immediately the father of the child cried out, and said, with tears, ‘Lord, I believe; help my unbelief!’”

This is a prayer I could probably pray most every day. Lord help my unbelief. This all landed me in the book of Hebrews chapter 11:1. “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.“

Do I have faith in what I can’t see? So often I want a tangible explanation. I want to be able to put my hand or my eyes on it. I want to be able to see clearly that it’s going to work out. But that is not faith. It does not push me, grow me, and cause me to have to stay close to my Father in heaven.

As we head into 2025 I’m going to continue to choose to believe.

I will break this down more as we head down into the new year because for me to believe I have to believe all of God‘s truth and not part of it. Which means believing in who I am in Him, trusting He will provide, and that He is faithful to fulfill His promises.
