Everyone feels the need to want to “belong”. To be loved unconditionally. We are made by God that way. However, did you know that there is only One that can fill that need in you?
It’s not a friend, a spouse, a parent, grandparent, or child. It’s God. You were created by Him to have a relationship with Him. He made you to want to have that intimacy and He wants you to have it with Him.
He did design the marriage relationship on earth to be a symbol of that love relationship He wants with you, but maybe like me, you haven’t had to joy to experience that or for you, maybe it was a bad relationship.
I want to share with you today the hope that you belong when you don’t think you do. The hope that you matter and are loved unconditionally. The hope that you were created by the God of the Universe. Imagine the great galaxy all around us and yet God created You – because He wants to have a relationship with you!
He values you that much. He loves you that much.
You may not be able to understand or take it in because you have trauma in the way. You may have experienced toxic relationship in your family or elsewhere that makes you think that you don’t matter or aren’t worth loving. Enduring sexual trauma can do that to you.
I have amazing news for you. You can be a child of The Father who loves you and wants what is best for you. If you follow what Romans 10:9-10 says below that will be your new title. You will be a son or daughter of God.
“If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved.”
Does that mean you’ll always get what you want? No. Does it mean you’ll understand this amazing love right off? No. Does that mean nothing bad will ever happened to you? No.
What does it mean?
It means:
You are loved beyond what your mind will ever comprehend. If you imagine how much you love your spouse, sister, brother, friend, or even pet – you are loved so much more than that. Not only that but by the One who created all you see around you.
You belong. You belong to the family of God, and nothing will ever take that away. You are His child and His son or daughter and that will be for all eternity – which is forever and ever.
You have trusted in Jesus Christ and that He came to die for your sin, then raised from the dead to bring you eternal life with Him. He is trustworthy and will always be the same. If you want to learn more about Him read about His life in Mathew, Mark, Luke, and John in the Bible and see how He treated people .
You can be sure He is always the same and emotions don’t get in the way of His love for you or how much He cares.
Hebrews 13:8 says, “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.”
No matter what you have done in this life or what you will do, you are welcomed and loved by the Father God. In Luke 15:20-24, a parable is told of the prodigal son.
A son that wished his father dead and only wanted what his father could give him. He went off and lost all he had been given and came back begging for forgiveness and to be put to work as he said he didn’t deserve his father’s love.
Guess what the father did? He threw a party! He celebrated his son returning to him and was overjoyed that he was back.
Our Father God is the same with you. He is ecstatic when you come to Him and when you do, He is celebrating you.
It took me years to work through enough trauma and understand this and go to God with all my anger and emotions and how much I didn’t understand who He was. Guess what? After years of prayer God began to show me who He was each day.
He shows me how much He cares and loves. He wants to do the same for you and I encourage you to come to Him. He wants to walk with you as you heal and open doors in this life you never dreamed possible.
I pray you trust Him today. That is the most important thing I can ever share with you. God loves YOU!
