This goes with last week’s post about being “fearfully and wonderfully made” by God. He not only made each of us, but He delights in each of us too.
“The Lord your God is with you, the Mighty Warrior who saves. He will take great delight in you; in his love he will no longer rebuke you, but will rejoice over you with singing.”
I don’t remember the day this verse came alive to me, but I remember reading and thinking, “God delights in me? Why? I am not worth anything.” As I meditated on this verse, God laid on my heart that He delights in me as a loving Father.
I felt Him encouraging me to watch Godly men I encounter and how they treated me. That these human men who have sins and flaws could treat me with love and respect, so how much more can God?
I picture a groom who writes and sings a song to his wife at their wedding. If a human man can delight in his bride, how much more can God? We are all considered the “Bride of Christ.” He will come back for each of us. He is the groom. Loving and delighting in us.
If humans can delight in someone, then God can delight that much more in them. He delights in each of us! How amazing it to think that God delights in you because He created you and knows all He created is good!
Your experiences here on earth (a sinful earth) do not always reflect what God has for you. Because we are all human and sinful and our sin affects others, and other’s sin affects us. Which is usually what we feel. The negative and lasting affects of sin.
Trauma committed against us is sin. It does not reflect God. It reflects the sinful nature of man.
So, though we can take the positive experiences with people on this earth to understand delight, we must also consider that this is done by imperfect, sinful people. Yet our God who delights in us is perfect!
As I was searching for a photo for this post I found this of a child who seems delighted. Imagine God even more delighted in us than this child is in the moment! Wow! So amazing!
We have a completely perfect, and holy God who delights in us more than we can know this side of heaven. I pray you relish in that my friends and enjoy God’s delight in you as His precious child.
Make this Truth known to me and those around me. May we all know You delight in each of us. I know we won’t understand it all this side of heaven, but we thank you that we have heaven to look forward to because on that day we enter we’ll understand Your delight is amazing! Thank you for loving me.
