April is Sexual Assault Awareness month. Take a moment today, every day, and ask what you are doing to take care of yourself.

Self-Care Can Look Like:

(First 7 taken from Mental Health Awareness & Positive Mental Health FB page)

Saying “No”

Setting boundaries

Asking for what you need

Taking a step back

Spending time alone

Putting yourself first

Asking for help

Going for a slow walk in the sun – to breathe and get Vitamin D – not to exercise

Listen to relaxing music

Praying

Doing a relaxing craft or making something with a result that leaves you fulfilled

Not pushing yourself to the limit

Getting a massage

Reach out to others if you need to

If you journal reread it and notice the positive changes and progress you’ve made – and yes they are there! It helps to tab these and go back to them often.

Take care of yourself and remember you are not alone.
