One thing I have learned from my therapist is how trauma affects the brain. It has a profound effect on how we process other information. As trauma survivors we struggle to take in new information because our brains are simply too full to take in anything else. I hope this simple video will show you a tangible way of how our trauma filled brains react when they are triggered by memories and we try to fill them with new information.

      Thank you. My therapist uses much better terms, but the visual came to my mind and made it simpler for me to understand.
